Documentation
Matt is a Mii that debuted in Wii Sports, and later appeared in Wii Music, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Party and Nintendo Switch Sports, in which he recieved a redesign. Outside of official media, Matt is by far the most reconizable Mii of all time, as he has gained unmatched ammounts of popularity and meme presence. This popularity stems from his status as the Boxing Champion in Wii Sports, and later as Swordplay Champion in Wii Sports Resort. Matt is a bald middle-aged man with black eyes and facial hair. Neutrally, he has a smug expression. His favorite color varies depending on iteration, but the most popular one is orange. Matt is also assosiated with the color purple, as he has a unique purple sword in Wii Sports Resort. Matt also has uniquely colored gloves in Wii Sports, being silver instead of red. Notably, Matt is the only CPU Mii who uses secret/unlockable gear usually exclusive to players as an easter egg.
Wii Sports
Famously, Matt is the champion of boxing, with a skill level of 1550 to 1649. Defeating him allows use of his silver gloves by holding 1 while on the loading screen before boxing. Matt also appears as the coach for boxing's training mode, interestingly enough. Matt will train you via multiple tests, such as hitting a bag, dodging tennis balls and throwing punches. During the dodging practice, newspapers of a much younger Matt can be seen posted on his wall. These newspapers show Matt defeating a bunch of other Mii in boxing matches. He already has his silver gloves, and the headlines refer to him as "champ", so it can be assumed he was already champion at this point. While the exact reason Matt is training you to beat him is never said, it can be inferred he's training you to become a "successor" to him as he approaches retirement.
In other sports, Matt is pretty bad. He has a skill level of 48 to 59 in tennis, and, along with Miyu, is the first opponent you face. In baseball, Matt has a skill level of 98 to 268.
Wii Sports Resort
On Wuhu Island, Matt is the champion of Swordplay, making him the only Mii to be the champion of two sports. Matt plays defensive, and uses player error as a window to attack. Matt is also the referee of Speed Slice, but can appear as an opponent (Ryan becomes the referee when facing him). He hovers his sword in the center and swings quickly before the objects land. Matt also appears as the Final Boss of Swordplay Showdown in stage 20. He appears significantly taller and bigger than all the other Mii. He wears a modified set of the bulky black-and-orange armor, and wields his signature purple sword.
In other sports, he is mostly pretty average. In basketball he has a skill level of 446 to 450. In table tennis, he's pretty decent with a skill level of 776 to 780. In cycling, however, he's terrible, placing 74th out of 98.
Wii Party
In Wii Party, Matt is in Master Difficulty. Matt places first in Expert Solo Mode, clearing all 50 stages with 425 points, unless you beat him. He also places first in Challenge Clover Hunt, clearing all 30 stages with 5 seconds left, unless you beat him. Overall, Matt has the most victories in Wii Party, making him the "best" Mii.
